John Siebert

Mr. Siebert brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to Impact Crash Reconstruction.  Mr. Siebert’s background includes being an ASE-certified automobile mechanic, police sergeant, a private pilot, and he even has a part 107 commercial drone operators’ license.

Mr. Siebert attended the Ohio Diesel Technical College, where he excelled in his studies. He completed a two-year program and received degrees in automotive and diesel technology. After graduation, he obtained his ASE certification in every significant area of auto repair.  Mr. Siebert worked as a professional certified auto mechanic for many years and a mechanic for the aerospace industry.  Mr. Siebert’s experience as an auto mechanic allows Impact Crash Reconstruction to quickly identify any mechanical deficiencies that may have contributed to a vehicle crash.

Mr. Siebert attended Premier Flight Academy over a period of three years and received his Private Pilot License. He also participated in an FAA-sponsored course and successfully passed his test for a part 107 commercial drone operators’ license.  Mr. Siebert uses a state-of-the-art drone to record high-quality aerial photographs and videos, which assist our reconstructionists.

Mr. Siebert also attended Lakeland Community College for his Ohio Basic Peace Officer Training Academy, which led to a decorated career in a suburban department on the east side of Cleveland, Ohio.  Mr. Siebert served as a Field Training Officer, Range Master (firearms training), Department Armorer, Bicycle Patrol Unit, and retired as a Patrol Sergeant.

After retiring from his police duties, Mr. Siebert returned to his department as a part-time auxiliary officer. He served as a vital member of the Valley Enforcement Group Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Team (VEG UAV).  The VEG UAV team works with the Valley Enforcement Group Accident Investigation Unit (VEG AIU) team, gathering critical aerial photographs and videos of accident scenes.  Mr. Siebert also worked with area Police, SWAT, Fire Personal and Search and Rescue teams by providing aerial photos/video, aerial tracking, locating missing persons, identifying hot spots with FLIR-equipped drones for the fire department.

Mr. Siebert is not a traffic crash reconstructionist. However, his diverse background provides our reconstruction staff with valuable tools to complete their investigations.
